Overview
The Rockville Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan provides the town with a holistic strategy for envisioning and implementing bicycle and pedestrian facilities in the next 5 years. The plan includes dynamic visual and map components highlighting connectivity to live, work, play locations, such as Beechwood Park, the Town Square, and Rockville Lake.

Goals included fostering a safe and secure atmosphere, creating a pedestrian friendly environment, and designing for sustainable infrastructure growth. Enhancing the desirability of pedestrian facilities as a viable alternative mode of transportation is critical to the success of the plan. In total, the measurable increase of trail and greenways, sidewalk, and on-street infrastructure will directly correspond to improved quality of life, quality of place, and enhance the sense of sociability within the community.
